International Performing Company: Meet the Players

‘SOON THE SONG OF BIRDS MINGLED WITH THE BUZZING OF INSECTS AND THE RUSTLE OF LEAVES…’

90 young people from across the Commonwealth have travelled to Glasgow to form The Tin Forest International Performing Company and bring The Tin Forest and the banks of the River Clyde to life.

Here we meet The Players who will perform at the Custom House Quay, Barrowland Park and The Riverside Museum on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd July…

The players transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Trapped inside the rules and regulations of a workforce, individuals break free from their mundane existence into their imagination. Inspired by what they want to be when they grow up, or what they dreamt of being when they were small, the young company become athletic runners, graceful swimmers, respected DJs and even James Bond. The players’ world is frantic, whimsical and full of frolics.

The sense of play translates into the company’s collaborative ethos, creative ideas are suggested and shared amongst the group and incorporated into the body of the performance.

The players aren’t just the Shakespearean player of the stage. ‘They are artists. They are performers. They are actors, singers, athletes. They are play. They are unpredictable.’

Come and play with them and find out about the other groups performing in the International Performing Company.

You can see all the groups perform together outside The South Rotunda on Wednesday 23rd July 2.30pm.

All International Performing Company Events are free and unticketed.
