A look from the past to the future with The Tin Forest Springburn
The Tin Forest Springburn continues on Thursday 12 & Friday 13 June, 5.00pm & 8.00pm & Saturday 14 June, 2.00pm & 5pm. Click here to book your tickets.
But first here’s a sneaky peak from the first evening…
As the sun shone on The Rockery in Springburn Park, a troupe of windae-hingers, midden-rakers, lovers, porters, gardeners, brought to life the area’s social and political history….
The Rockery is completely transformed. This promenade theatre piece leads the audience into the past and back again. The porters make sure you don’t miss your train as you jump aboard the choo-choo orchestra and journey through a steampunk portal.
You then observe the Dance of the Seven Suitcases, before having a chat with the local gardener and the women hanging out their windaes.
After journeying up the side of the pond and back into the delights of the fairground, a young boy called Lee makes a promise; ‘We take off our fancy suits. We do care about our roots.’
Then with warmth in your heart and some hopes for the future, you can form a team, or go it alone as you tackle the heights of the infamous ‘Coconut Shy!’
Come along and venture into The Tin Forest Springburn….
